Colloid and Surface Chemistry. Distribution, basic concepts. Interface: surface and interfacial energy. Surface properties (curved interfaces, wetting, cohesion, adhesion, small structures and thin films on a solid substrate, ..) Changing the surface properties of the material in relation to its size, from micro to nano. Adsorption: the interfaces - gas - liquid, gas - solid, Gibbs adsorption isotherm, adsorption isotherms and models (Freundlich, Langmuir, BET). Electrokinetic phenomena: Debye-Hückel theory, electrical double layer, zeta potential. Dispersion systems: classification: a colloid, sol, gel, foam, emulsion, aerosol; solutions of macromolecules; micelles, surface films. Disperse systems - phenomena: the forces between colloidal particles; sedimentation, electrokinetic phenomena, rheology, optical properties; stability of colloidal systems. Transport phenomena. Diffusion, electrical conductivity, heat conduction, viscosity.
