Course content
1. Trends development of cutting tools (material, geometry, cutting speed), machine tools and the implications of these trends on the economy, the result and progress of the machining process. 2. Machine at high speeds (HSC), the support and hard machining (hard machining) and the implications of these trends on the economy, the result and progress of the machining process. 3. Environmental Trends in the development of new engineering materials and applications of process fluids, fluid type and ecological implications of these trends on the economy, the result and progress of the machining process. 4. Monitoring of the machining process and adaptive control of machine tools and machining consequences for the economy. 5. Progressive unconventional methods of machining. 6. Overall summary overview of basic manufacturing technologies base metal processing. Development of metallurgical processes. 7. Development and production of new materials. 8. Evaluation of metals and alloys in terms of their technical application. 9. A composite material - definition, classification and basic knowledge of composite materials. 10. A powder metallurgy. 11. Progressive casting technology. 12. Nanotechnology and nanomaterials.

Learning outcomes
The course in machining focused on modern machining technology, the trends in cutting tools and machines, the development of cutting speeds, high speed machining (HSC) for the support and "hard" tooling, machining economics, environmental trends in the development of new engineering materials and applications of process fluids, monitoring of the machining process and adaptive control machine tools, as well as unconventional methods of machining. It is also focused on the implications of these trends on the outcome and progress of the machining process.

Prerequisites
Students will acquire new advanced materials processing, ? Students are able to apply and define the process of production, ? Students are able to decide and choose the best alternative compared to conventional technologies.
