The course is devoted to the issue of surface quality and surface layers in various stages of processing. The aim of the study is theoretical knowledge and definitions of individual parameters of surface integrity, definition and selection of methods of surface quality analysis by specified parameters and their importance for partial and overall evaluation of the applied technology with regard to the prediction of equipment life and serviceability. The scope of the course covers not only the field of material engineering, but also the areas of process and manufacturing engineering, metrology, quality and statistics.
