Course content
1. Basic concepts, structure of glass, difference between glass and glass, properties of glass 2. Properties of glass, glass raw materials, stem, charge 3. Melting of glass, theory, technology, furnaces, glass dosing 4. Glass shaping 5. Glass cooling, theory, technology, cooling furnaces 6. Glass finishing, mechanical, thermal, chemical principles 7. Characteristics of ceramics, classification, structure of natural silicates 8. Raw materials for the production of fine ceramics 9. Preparation of ceramic mixtures, properties of mixtures of raw materials 10. Shaping of ceramics, pressing, shaping of plastic dough, casting 11. Drying of ceramics, theory, technology, dryers, firing 12. Surface treatment of ceramics, selected types of ceramics

Learning outcomes
The course introduces students to basic technology of glass and ceramics, which are important materials occurring in the automotive industry. The goal is to bring students knowledge of the properties and production of glass and ceramics.
Students are able to describe technologies in the field of glass and ceramics and apply the acquired knowledge to technical practice.
