Course content
1. Basic concepts of machining, machine tools and technologies. Tool diagrams. Creating chips, deformation zone, primary deformation. 2. Creation of chip area secondary plastic deformation, the area of contact with the back of the tool and the machined surface. The integrity of the machined surface, the dynamics of cutting process, determination of cutting force. The stability of the cutting process. 3 Heat and heat balance. Temperature field. The influence of cutting conditions and process parameters, cutting environment. Machinability and cutting power. 4 Tool wear blunting tip, durability of cutting edge material cutting tools. The optimum tool life, cutting data analytically and normatively. Economic cutting data. Experiments in machining. 5. Classification of material and machining. Distribution and marking machine tool, sorting, selection of a machine tool. Choice of technology used. 6. Technology I. machining - turning, drilling, milling. Options machines, tools, cutting conditions, reached parameters. 7. Technology machining II. - Broaching, planing, shaping, boring. Cutting. 8 Finishing machining methods. Metal grinding, honing, lapping, superfiniš, other finishing methods. 9 Unconventional machining methods and new methods. Erosive machining, electrochemical, chemical, laser, ultrasound, high-speed machining, machining at high metal removal rates etc. 10. Manufacture of threads and gears - spur, bevel gears, worm gears, wheels with curved teeth. Production processes. Making procedures, choice of alternatives methodology. 11. Fundamentals of internal assembly, calculation of assembly chain. 12. Systems maintenance and organization, information support, maintenance, evaluation, maintenance planning. 13. Diagnostics, classification, diagnostic system diagnostics without disassembly

Learning outcomes
The course introduces the theory and individual machining technologies, production processes, the technological aspects of machined parts and the basics of internal assembly. The aim of the course is to understand the nature of the manufacturing process and orientation in the process of addiction, the ability to objectively choice of a particular technology, knowledge and technological preparation of the assembly process. Orientation in methods of diagnosis and maintenance of machinery.

? Students will acquire theory of the formation of a new surface machined components, ? Students are able to oriented in various machining methods, their requirements and applications ? Students can create technological procedure simpler components, ? The student is well versed in the areas of installation and can determine tolerance for assembly ? The student knows the methods of maintenance and is able to apply, ? knows the basics of diagnostic equipment, is familiar with the areas of use of non-invasive diagnostics
