The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the basic technological treatment of water and individual equipment for these treatments for industrial and energy companies. Course contents: 1. Sources of surface and groundwater, water pollution, legislation 2. Physical and chemical properties of water, processes in water 3. General qualitative parameters of water, chemical and physical methods of water analysis 4. Water treatment technology - filtration, filtration cycles, types of filters, characteristics of filters 5. Water treatment technology - water clarification (flocculation, sedimentation, flotation), coagulation mechanism, coagulants, types of clarifiers 6. Water treatment technology - water treatment by membrane processes (ultrafiltration, microfiltration, nanofiltration, reverse osmosis and electrodialysis) 7. Water treatment technology - ion exchange technologies (separation of ion exchangers, working phases of ion exchangers, regeneration, utilization) 8. Water treatment technology - chemical methods of water treatment (neutralization, oxidation, reduction), biological methods of water treatment 9. Treatment of raw water for drinking water - basic technologies and machine-technological equipment 10. Water treatment for energy purposes - basic technologies and machine-technological equipment 11. Basic technologies of wastewater treatment and machine-technological equipment
