Learning outcomes
The course provides basic information from the theory of machining, which is necessary for a deeper and more effective understanding of machining technology, where the student gets acquainted with the relevant terminology. Course contents: 1. Mechanics of chip formation, deformation areas during chip formation, areas of suitable chip formation. 2. Influence of material, cutting edge geometry, cutting conditions and other factors on the area of ??primary plastic deformation. 3. Secondary plastic deformation, growth formation in various materials and consequences on the machining process. 4. Minimum thickness of the cut layer, surface integrity, residual stresses and reinforcement in the machined surface. 5. Forces, torque and power during machining, their calculation and the influence of working parameters. 6. Vibration during machining and the influence of working parameters on vibration. 7. Heat and cutting temperature and the influence of working conditions on these phenomena. 8. Causes and forms of wear, influence of working parameters on cutting edge wear. 9. Durability and service life of the tool, the influence of working conditions. 10. Machinability and cutting ability. 11. Cutting environment.
