The course acquaints students with the methods of optical and non-contact measurement of quantities, states and processes. The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the possibilities and scope of methods used for non-destructive measurement and evaluation of surface quality, dynamics of processes and states in various materials, including evaluation after thermal or mechanical treatment. Another goal is to acquaint students with the methodology and planning of the scope and degree of measurement, the choice of the optimal method and the possibilities of evaluation and interpretation of measured values ??and quantities. They will get acquainted with the partial methods that are used in practice for measuring and evaluating real processes, materials and processes.
The graduate of the course has knowledge of the theoretical principles of operation of optical and contactless methods of measurement. He is acquainted with valid norms, standards and technical principles in this area of ??testing. He is also able to work with a confocal laser microscope and other common methods of non-contact measurement. Based on the data obtained from the measurements, he is able to draw appropriate conclusions.
