Learning outcomes
The most frequently processed material in mechanical engineering is metals and their alloys, therefore it is necessary to know their material, mechanical, physical and technological properties. The aim of the course is to provide students with knowledge about the properties of metallic materials, as well as the influence of thermal, chemical-thermal and thermo-mechanical processing on these properties.
Students will gain basic knowledge about the structure, properties, methods of thermal and chemical-thermal treatment of iron-based alloys and will be familiar with this issue. They will gain practical experience in evaluating mechanical properties using appropriate standards and measuring equipment.
