The course characterizes individual groups of new construction materials. Besides the development and physical nature of these materials, the most commonly used types of newly developed materials, their basic characteristics and mechanical properties are presented. Emphasis is placed especially on their technological possibilities, design applicability as well as the ways of their marking. Selected groups of promising technical materials are introduced: high-strength steels for welded structures; new materials in the automotive industry; perspective stainless steel and nickel / cobalt alloys (biomedicine, energy); new refractory materials; energetiku; the development of non-ferrous metals, construction ceramics, powder metallurgy, resp. of plastics and composites.
