The main objective of the course is to characterize, classify, use, process and manufacture light non-ferrous metals and Al, Mg and Ti alloys. The main emphasis is placed on Al materials, which are the most important after Fe and their production volume is rapidly increasing worldwide in the automotive and aerospace industries. The course also gives new directions in the field of new types of alloys in the field of light metals and new trends in their processing. The course is focused on the following areas: Al-based alloys for casting - properties, classification, marking, importance, processing, use, and production. Heat treatment of Al alloys - curing, homogenization and recrystallization annealing. Mg-based alloys - classification, designation, importance, use, properties and individual groups of alloys, production of Mg. Ti-based alloys - classification, labeling, importance, use, properties and individual groups of alloys, production by Ti Kroll method.
