Learning outcomes
The main aim of the course is general processes and technologies of micro- and nanopainting on the surface of technical materials, which is one of the branches that affects all branches of engineering production. Many utility properties of metals, alloys and non-metallic materials are determined by the surface condition. For this reason, more and more attention is paid to the knowledge of basic laws, surface properties and possibilities of improving technologies, methods of preparation and protection of these surfaces. Main areas of micro- and nanopainting: 1. Electrochemical surface protection (anodic and cathodic). 2. Inorganic coatings - electroless plating, electrolytic (galvanic) plating, metal plating in molten metals, diffusion plating, heat spraying, cladding, etc. 3. Surface treatment of Al material by anodizing and defects on anodized surface, other technologies of Al alloy coating (powder coatings, anodic coating, etc.). 4. Micro- and nanolayers - description, identification, properties, basic technology of preparation, diagnostics of thin films. 5. Chemical-based layer formation - chemically formed micro-layers and multiple layers, nano- and micro-composite coatings, liquid matrix-based coatings with nano- and microparticles, geopolymer layers, etc. 6. Physical methods of vacuum coating - PVD layers, plasmaimpax hybrid coating, vacuum evaporation and sputtering, magnetron sputtering, ion cladding, LARC technology. 7. Chemical methods of vacuum coating - CVD. 8. Ion implantation of metal surfaces, laser deposition of metal surfaces, laser ablation coating of multicomponent materials.
