Course content
Metallurgy of weld joint, theory of slags. Weldability and the main groups of materials with respect to their weldability. Theory of crack initiation in weld joints, factors and classification, prevention of their occurrence. Structural stability of welds, bonding between weld (build-up layer) and base material. Temperature-deformation cycle of welding. Solution of temperature field during welding. Internal stresses at welding, surfacing and plasma spraying. Deformations and possibilities of their minimization. Heat affected zone of weld. Structure of weld and its dependence on welding parameters. Linkages between base metal and cladding or spray. Testing of claddings and spray layers. Numerical analysis and PC application in welding technology.
