Course content
1. Basic terms of machining, tools and processes. Tool diagrams. Chip creation, areas of deformation, area of primary plastic deformation. 2. Chip creation, area of secondary plastic deformation, area of contact of tool flank and machined surface. Integrity of machined surface. 3. Dynamics of cutting process, determination of cutting force intensity. Stability of cutting process. 4. Heat and thermal balance. Thermal field. Influence of cutting conditions and process parameters, cutting medium. Machinability and cutting efficiency. 5. Tool wear, edge blunting, edge durability, materials of cutting tools. Optimum durability of tool edge. 6. Determination of cutting conditions - analytically and by means of standard. Economical determination of cutting conditions. Experiments in machining. 7. Materials cutting and machining of metals. Division and marking of machine tool, classification, option of machine tool. Option of used technology. 8. Machining I. - Turning, drilling, milling. Machine possibilities, tools, fixtures and jigs, cutting conditions, attainable parameters. 9. Machining II. - Broaching, planing, shaving, boring. Cutting of metal materials. 10. Surface finishing methods. Metal grinding, honing, lapping, superfinish, other finishing methods. 11. Non-convenctional methods of machining and new methods. Electro-erosion m., electro-chemical m, chemical m., laser, ultrasonic m., high speed m., high removal machining etc. 12. Threads and teeth production - spur and bevel gears, worm gear, gear with curved teeth. Methods of manufacture. Sequence creation, choice of alternative, methodology. 13. Technologic way design, bases of internal assembly, calculation of assembly chain.
