1. Effectiveness: Governance theory, regulation theory (responsive regulation), decision-theory (incrementalism vs. rationalism). 2. Efficiency: Land rent theory and land policy. 3. Legitimacy: Political Theory (i.e. Scharpf), public administration theory (i.e. participation, stakeholder involvement). 4. Justice: Competing concepts of justice (i.e. utilitarianism, libertarianism, social justice) and its relevance of land use and spatial planning

This course on land use planning and governance provides a structured reflection these questions, ultimately aiming at a threefold teaching goal: first, participants know discourses on spatial and planning theory. Second, participants are able to apply such theories to planning and spatial governance practice. Third, participants learn to reflect academically on spatial theory and spatial planning to ultimately (further) develop such theoretical approaches. Therefore, participants will discuss various spatial theories and spatial planning approaches from different disciplinary backgrounds in class in relation to their specific research subject.

Zkouška: písemná forma (test). Zkouškový test je složen z otevřených otázek, celkově lze v testu získat maximálně 20 bodů (100%). Na základě získaného počtu bodů bude udělena známka dle následující stupnice: - 90 až 100 % - výborně (1); - 80 až 89 % - velmi dobře (2); - 70 až 79 % - dobře (3); - 0 až 69 % - nevyhověl/a (4).
