Cílem kurzu je seznámit studenty s běžně užívanými pojmy peněžní ekonomie, představit podstatu a členění finančních trhů, a dílčí témata mezinárodních financí. Závěrečná cvičení provedou studenty problematikou finanční krize, jejími formami, historií, příčinami a zákulisím nejpikantnějších finančních krizí, včetně té nejimpozantnější z roku 1929.
At the end of the course the students will be able to: - define individual milestones in the evolution of money, - define potential segmentation of financial markets, - understand the essence of establishment, existence, and benefits of a central bank, conceivable modes of its monetary policy, and specific relationship with commercial banks, - define and segment the foreign exchange market in the terms of the international finance, explain individual items of the balance of payment, and the mode of operation of the balancing item, - understand, in the field of world economy, the reasons for establishment of Bretton Woods System and institutions related thereto, and their heritage for the present days, - define the term of financial crisis, conceivable forms and levels thereof, including understanding the root causes and consequences of the most important ones.
