The course is complemented by practice in the Parliament of the Czech Republic. Students should not only take theoretical knowledge of the role of parliaments in democratic regimes, but they will also have the opportunity to have a closer look at the functioning of the Parliament of the Czech Republic. From an organizational point of view, the course will be divided into two closely related parts. The first part will be devoted both to general theoretical interpretation and to the definition of functions and the role of parliament in the Czech constitutional and political system. The second part of the course, in cooperation with the Parliamentary Institute, will be purely practical; students will get acquainted with the internal functioning of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, meet with deputies and/or experts from the environment of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, visit plenary sessions and/or committees of the Chamber of Deputies of Parliament which the Parliamentary Institute prepares for the needs of deputies and bodies of the Chamber of Deputies).
