The process of European integration has undergone many stages of its development. After the Second World War, there was an effort to prevent new global conflict and strengthen cooperation particularly in the economic field. The divided Europe and the bipolar world certainly assisted to the strengthening of European Integration. The European Community has undergone several waves of enlargement to the present appearance of the EU-28. However, the EU is facing many difficulties and challenges in the economic or institutional terms or from the perspective of internal or external security. The aim of this course is acquaint students with current challenges and problems of the EU and its future integration process. The course will be realized in cooperation with the Eurocentre Ústí nad Labem. The individual seminars will be led by external political or academic experts.
Students will get the orientation of the subject matter, the ability to analyse and interpret partial phenomena or more general context and long-term characteristics of the topic associated with the current process of European integration. |
