1) Introduction 2) Definition, characteristics of political parties 3) Concept of cleavages in the theory of political parties 4) Political parties and their programmatic, party families 5) Evolutionary types of political parties: cadre, mass, catch-all, and cartel parties 6) Entrepreneurial parties as a current phenomenon of political partisanship 7) Funding of political parties 8) Political parties and political marketing - Lees-Marshment model

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to get students acquainted with political science research of political parties. The course will gradually deal with their historical development, sense and meaning, organizational structure and operation of real politics. The crucial typology of political parties will be presented as well as established in political science. The theory will be continuously updated with specific examples of observed phenomena.
The student will become familiar with the problems of political research issues of political parties. He/she t is knowledgeable in the fundamental theories and typologies of political parties, writers and literature and is able to use the acquired knowledge at practical level.
