1. The concept of European Law, EU Law, EC Law 2. The history of European Law 3. The Nature and Role of the EU Law, basic principles of EU Law, legal acts of the EU 4. The relation of European and national constitutional law 5. Legislative procedure in the EU 6. European Commission 7. European Parliament 8. Council and European Council 9. The Court of Justice of the EU, enforcement of the EU Law 10. The law of the internal market 11. Competition law 12. Sectoral policies of the EU and their legal structure

Learning outcomes
The course will deal with the history and current form of the European Law. We will elaborate on the structure of the EU Law, the division into the primary and secondary law, basic principles of EU Law, legislative procedure, institutional architecture of the EU and the main sectors of EU law order.
Students will get acquire the following academic knowledge: - understanding of the basic principles of the European Law - orientation in the institutional system of the EU - knowledge of the functioning of the main sectoral policies - knowledge of the functioning of the Court of Justice - knowledge of the legislative procedure in the EU - orientation in the discussion about the relation of European and national law
