Learning outcomes
The aim of this course is to acquaint students with the development of far-left political parties in a separate Czechoslovakia, over the period of the Second Republic and the Protectorate to the seizure of power by the Communist Party in 1948. The course will focus on the dynamics of development, background and ideology of the far left, as well as its international dimension and continuity.
Student gains the following expertise: - Identifies the basic parameters of left-wing political agenda - Distinguish Trotskyism from the Stalinist form of Marxism-Leninism - A basic overview of the development of Czech extreme left-wing scene - Identify the main organizations and representatives - Student learns how to analyze texts of extreme Left in the context of this ideology.
