The course is based primarily on an analysis of the concept of "controversial issues", using an interactive approach to the issues presented in individual lessons. In the course, students will acquire the knowledge how to work by way of model situations with a diversity of opinion, form and formulate their own attitudes, work with text and case studies. In this course, students will get acquainted with various forms of discussions and debates.
Students - will explain, analyze, giving specific examples demonstrate the basic concepts (diversity, controversy, controversial social and political issues, identity, multiculturalism, unipolarity) - identify current controversial social and political issues and explain why they are controversial - analyze case study and model situations and reflect on their own attitudes - in various forms of discussions, make a claim of a participant of a discussion and respect the rights of other participants - identify and analyze a selected controversial topic which is presented in the form of essays, PowerPoint and oral presentation |
