Learning outcomes
This course introduces the field of psychology, its subject, the various psychological disciplines and research methods. It introduces the development of psychological thinking, main psychological directions and defining personalities. The aim of the course is to focus on the history of psychology and understand the main problems and the basic concepts of psychological thinking.
Student is able to characterize psychology as an independent discipline, define the basic psychological disciplines, characterize the basic psychological and psychotherapeutic directions and explain theories of personality psychology, developmental, social, and political psychology.

Assessment methods and criteria

At the exam there will be a knowledge test based on lectures and basic study literature. The student must acquire knowledge primarily definition, methodology and key concepts of basic psychological disciplines, the most important psychological approaches and their defining characters.
