Learning outcomes
|
The course describes the history of the Czech-German border regions. The course's scope allows to explain the complicated history of the Czech-German relations. The course focuses on the period of 1918-90. The topic will be described through various media including archival materials, literature and film.
The graduate of the course will become familiar with basic issues regarding history of Czech-German borderlands that will be introduced in a broader context of Czech-German relationships. The graduate will gain the general knowledge of political streams, both Czech and German. The knowledge of the sources of that time will be mediated by frequent usage of archives, period daily press nad literature.

Basic conditions for completing the course is the active participation on lectures and seminars as well as creating a paper on a topic chosen from the range of topics regarding the issues of Czech-German borderlands. .
