Learning outcomes
The course aims to explain the history of state border protection in Europe with special focus on Central Europe. The topic will be described through various media including archival materials, literature and film. The course focuses on the period of 1951-89.
Students will understand the genesis of protection of the state broder in the Czech lands in distant and recent past. Due to practical examples, students will learn how to work with specific historical sources related to the topic. Graduates will gain general knowledge of both old and recent literature related to the topic of protection of the state border on the territory of the Czech Republic, Slovakia and in Europe.
