The specialized course focuses on the issue of digital photography as a peculiar means of communication system in relation to documenting material cultural heritage. It is divided to theoretical and practical parts and systematically presents the customs and laws of photography. The theoretical part aims at introducing students to the basic issues of photography: history of photography, general definition of photography, technical parameters and the possible use of the required technology, the construction and composition of photographic image, presentation of basic editing programs. The practical part pays attention to taking, subsequent editing and presenting photographs. Increased attention will be paid to the possible uses of photographic documentation of cultural heritage - especially architecture and small historical monuments in landscape - in relation to both professional and layman public.
The graduates manage taking and subsequent processing of a photographic image. With concern to the orientation of the course, they can employ the acquired information and skills in documenting material cultural heritage especially in the area of care of historical documents and museum or archive practice.
