Learning outcomes
The state final examination in Czech/Czechoslovak and general history tests knowledge of historical development from prehistory to the 20th century. In particular, the ability to clearly explain the context of the historical development of the period in question and the ability to orient oneself in the basic factual literature are assessed.
See the graduate profile.
Prerequisites
Submission of the application for the state final examination assumes that the student has completed all compulsory courses and compulsory modules (block of compulsory elective courses) set out in the study plan of the relevant study programme and has also obtained a full number of credit points in accordance with the wording of the Study and Examination Rules for Bachelor and Master Programmes of the John Evngelista Purkyně University (Article 8, paragraphs 7 and 8).

Assessment methods and criteria
unspecified
The student has at his disposal framework headings for the state final examination, which the examination board specifies in sub-questions.The oral examination in the form of two questions from Czech/Czechoslovak and general history is aimed at discussing the material covering the range of prehistoric to modern history. The student draws the first question from the chosen period, the second period is assigned to him/her proportionally (both in terms of focus and chronology), i.e. e.g. in the case of choosing a question from more recent Czech/Czechoslovak history, the student draws the second question from the older general history and proceeds similarly in the other possible choices. The premodern history option covers the period from prehistory to the end of the 18th century, the modern history option covers the period from the French Revolution to recent history. The student is provided with historical atlases during the preparation and the actual debate.
