The aim of the compulsory optional subject is to introduce students to the issue of witness statements. Attention will be paid to the characteristic features of human memory. Students will learn to approach eyewitness testimony through oral history best practices. A possible outcome of the course is the expansion of the participants? pedagogical competences for working with witnesses as a school historical source.
Students compare information from eyewitness accounts with common historical sources. Students apply the principles of oral history in history learning. Students place the testimonies of witnesses in the historical context of historical phenomena, events and processes. Students actively work with the interview (recording, transcription, analysis). Selected students use didactically and methodically processed eyewtiness accounts as a school historical source. |
