Course content
Topics of lectures: 1. Construction History Research: basic methodology, development, characteristics, terminology, division. 2. Operational Research and Documentation: characteristics, difference from Construction History Research 3. Iconography for the architectural research: characteristic of iconography for the individual groups of architecture, critique of the iconographic sources, basic sources of the historic iconography, examples of historic iconography. 4. Archaeological methods: characteristics of non-destructive as well as destructive method of research, dating methods. 5. Historic plans: development of planning documentation, critique of historic plans, historic methods of imaging. 6. Photo-documentation: its role in documentation, preparation of photo-documentation, processing photo-documentation 7. Construction measurements: characteristics of the use of plan documentation in the finding reports, ways of imaging, types of lines, surveying techniques and tools, processing of field measurements. 8. Geodetic measurements: the role of the geodetic measurement in the documentation of architecture, preparation of the measurement and the processing of field measurement 9. Orthogonal measurement: use of the orthogonal measurement in documentation of architecture, ways of measuring, processing of the field measurement. 10. One-shot land photogrammetry: method, use in documentation of the historic sights, preparation for the documentation, documentation, processing 11. Description of the historic architecture: system of description, practical training 12. Drawing and sketch of the construction measurement: practical training 13. Photogrammetry: practical training

Learning outcomes
The subject explains theoretical aspects of documentation methodology of historic architecture and introduces the basic scientific literature.
The student knows the basic methods and the scientific literature which is used in the documentation of historic architecture, can describe architecture, draw a sketch for construction measurement, manages one-shot photogrammetry.
