1. Architectural modernism in the Czech lands. 2. Architecture after the First World War in Europe. 3. Architecture after the First Wordl War overseas. 4. Interwar architecture in Czechoslovakia I. 5. Interwar architecture in Czechoslovakia II. 6. The architecture of totalitarian regimes. 7. Post-war trends in architecture - Europe. 8. Post-war trends in architecture - the Czech lands. 9. The vision of postmodern architecture. 10. The architecture of deconstructivism and high-tech. 11. Current trends in architecture. 12. A summary of the material covered. 13. Credit test.

Learning outcomes
The aim of this course is to acquaint students with the works of important Czech and international architects, and their theories and historical significance in the 19th and 20th centuries. it will also seek to describe the context of the times, strongly manifested especially in architecture in the period under review.

Prerequisites
Completion of the course Introduction to the history of architecture III.

Assessment methods and criteria

Participation in lectures with no more than three absences and study of the prescribed expert literature. Passing an oral exam is a condition for completing the course.
