Course content
1. Choosing a suitable topic for a bachelor's thesis 2. Methods of historical research 3. Working with sources 4. Information sources and working with them (specialized literature, dictionaries, encyclopedias, syntheses, monographs, anthologies, specialized periodicals, electronic information sources) 5. Principles of scientific work, citation principles, bibliographic records 6. Formal editing of text, proofreading, editorial work 7.-14. Consultations on selected topics chosen by students

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to develop individual thinking and creative abilities of the student while working with scientific literature and sources, writing of various types of scientific text stressing the importance of the future bachelor's thesis (in the form of elaborating a proseminary work). In the seminar we read theoretical texts and methodology of historian's work. The written and oral performance of the students will be cultivated. They should be able to comprehend and present the exposition of a given topic, various forms of argumentation and formulation of hypotheses and arguments, to create a logical structure of a shorter text and more extensive writing and to test various rhetoric and stylistic processes suitable for the chosen genre and objective.
Students will become familiar with the basic principles of historical work and will be able to critically think about choosing a suitable topic for their thesis.

Active participation in contact teaching, ability to engage in discussion on the topics covered, prepare materials for submitting a bachelor's thesis to the STAG system.
