Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the subject is to acquaint students with the period of NORMALIZATION in Czechoslovakia from the perspective of life under socialism, including the social position of an ordinary citizen against the background of "great" political history. The focus will be on the key moments of the period between 1968 and 1989 with the help of documents, archival materials, samples from period films and magazines.
Students orientate themselves in the historical context and can capture and describe the key moments of the period of normalization between 1968 and 1989. They can explain the terms: real socialism, Charter 77, VONS, underground, samizdat and others. They know the basic specialist literature on the observed period. They demonstrate the ability to critically follow an interview with an eyewitness and develop their findings in the form of text and discussion.
