Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to introduce periodicals as a secondary, but also a primary source for the history of the 19th and 20th centuries; to acquaint students with the possibilities and pitfalls of its use; to approach the origin and differentiation of printed materials; and to enable students to orientate themselves in this issue.
After completing the course, students will master the history of journalism in this country on a basic level. They can work critically with periodicals as a source (primary and secondary). They will learn to know and work with individual databases that allow access to periodicals.

Students must complete at least 100% of the course. Ideally, they engage in discussion. The main output for the successful completion of the course will be a short work (4 pages) proving that the student is able to work critically with the periodical press as a source.
