Learning outcomes

The aim of the course is to present a comprehensive genesis of modern and contemporary architecture, including its theoretical concept. Comparing contemporary topics abroad and in our country is a necessary prerequisite for the perception of the material environment and, above all, distinguishing the qualities of the clash of contemporary and historical architecture. The theory helps to understand the reasons why many contemporary buildings are perceived contradictoryly, yet they have an irreplaceable place in the current development of civilization.
The student will gain the necessary orientation in the increasingly complex picture of contemporary architecture, especially in relation to technologies, materials and the aforementioned theory.
