Selected topics will provide better perspective of the whole of Roman history, with its number of intrinsically linked processes and their mutual relations. It will show the importance of determining factors for Rome in its long period of duration and development from the city to the empire. Importance of Roman history is also documented by, among other things, in efforts lasting till modern times to search for model patterns of rules with general validity for a mankind in their alleged internal logic. By its subject the theme reaches beyond the framework of history of Classical antiquity.
