Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the period of NORMALIZATION in Czechoslovakia from the point of view of socialist art and the social status of "frelance" artists. The focus will be on painters, sculptors and restorers who worked under the Czech Fund of Fine Artists and had/did not have the opportunity to exhibit, work and sell their works abroad. The aim is to point out a completely different social environment from the point of view of the witnesses, with the possibility of organizing a meeting of students and witnesses.
Students orientate themselves in the historical context and can identify the main artistic trends of normalization. They orient themselves in the social issues of people in the gray zone of socialism. They know the basic specialist literature on the observed period. They demonstrate the ability to critically follow an interview with and eyewitness and develop their knowledge in the form of text and discussion.
