The instruction of the course in the combined study format is structured into the following thematic blocks: 1.The historical development of the presentation of artworks and collection items. 2.Presentation of cultural heritage in museums and galleries. 3.Presentation of sacral monuments and intangible cultural heritage. 4.Heritage sites open to the public and their methods of presentation.

The aim of the course is to provide students with a concrete understanding of both the historical development and current trends in the presentation of cultural heritage. Through a series of thematic blocks, students are introduced to the evolution?especially the contemporary practices?of heritage and museum exhibitions. The course familiarizes students with installation and documentation practices, operational standards of various types of heritage sites, as well as the basics of marketing, creative pedagogy, and more. Instruction is delivered by external lecturers, primarily professionals from the National Heritage Institute (NPÚ). The course is conducted through in-person lectures and includes practical field demonstrations. Thematic areas, distributed over multiple sessions, include: folk culture museums, castles, chateaux, monasteries, galleries, exhibition and display practices, educational trails, and promotion of cultural heritage.
The graduate has a clear understanding of the mission, operations, and day-to-day functioning of various types of institutions and heritage sites. They are familiar with the administrative structure, funding sources, and the responsibilities of different professional roles within these institutions. The graduate is capable of actively participating in exhibition projects and the creation of new displays?either as an external expert or as a staff member of a heritage site or gallery. They also have a concrete overview of potential career opportunities within these types of institutions. |
