Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to synoptically introduce students to the development of history of fine arts from the beginning of Italian Renaissance to the turn of the 16th and 17th centuries. Emphasis is laid on overall historical context, selected artistic personalities and individual significant places and cultural centres.
The graduate demonstrates knowledge of the development of artistic creation from the beginning of the Renaissance to the era of Rudolfinian Prague Mannerism. He is able to identify and date significant works of art and historical buildings, is familiar with the issues of individual schools, art centers and significant personalities. He has an overview of basic titles of domestic and foreign literature.
