Learning outcomes
|
Basic information about the structure of museology, including professional terminology and an overview of the history of museology in the Czech lands, will be provided. During the presentation, increased emphasis will be placed on the inclusion of museology in the system of sciences that deal with the field of cultural heritage. In theoretical museology, the presentation will focus on the generalization of the principles of museology. In individual chapters on museography, students will be introduced to the basic issues of practical activities in contemporary museology. The final presentation is devoted to the applications of museology to individual field specializations.
The student is familiar with the principles of care for collections within cultural institutions such as museums, knows the basic issues of practical activities in contemporary museum work, and is familiar with basic field specializations.

Assessment methods and criteria

The student will prepare a professional text on current issues of museology according to the assigned topic in the range of 5 - 10 standard pages. After fulfilling this obligation, the student will take an interview with the aim of verifying his/her acquired knowledge.
