Thematic blocks: 1. History of opening monuments to the public (castles, châteaus, religious and technical monuments) in Bohemia and Moravia. 2. Accessible monuments in the Czech Republic today (owners/founders, operation, legislation). 3. Retrospective of the creation of interior installations in castles and châteaus between 1945 and 1989. 4. Trends in the creation of interior installations in castles and châteaus after 1989 and today. 5. Furniture collections of castles and châteaus in the past and today ? their registration and care. 6. Routine annual maintenance + major (taking several years) building renovations and their impact on the operation of the monuments. 7. Monument financing (annual budget, extra-budgetary sources of financing). 8. Cultural events at heritage sites. 9. Promotion of monuments accessible to the public through the media and social networks. 10. Presentation of monuments to children and disabled visitors (individuals and organised groups). 11. The immediate surroundings of the monument (e.g. château parks), its maintenance and presentation. 12. Safety and fire protection on heritage buildings. 13. Meeting with a castellan I - excursion to a monument with installed and guided tour routes. Meeting with a castellan II - excursion to a torsal architecture monument (castle ruins)

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of this course is to provide the graduate with a concrete idea of historical retrospective and current trends in the management, presentation and popularisation of cultural heritage. Students are gradually informed, through the individual topics, about developments and especially the current trends in the operation of a publicly accessible heritage building to give them a general orientation in the individual disciplines and professions with which a cultural heritage manager cooperates in the exercise of their profession. They are introduced to installation and registration practices, operational practices of individual types of buildings (installed monument with guided tour routes x torsal architecture), the basics of marketing, creative pedagogy, etc. It is a full-time teaching course which, in addition to the theoretical explanatory part, will also consist of practical demonstrations in the field to gain direct contact with the topics discussed. The course is focused on the presentation and popularisation of cultural heritage in the Czech Republic, but examples from other parts of Europe are included for comparison.
Graduates have a clear idea of the mission and functioning and normal operation of heritage buildings open to the public. They understand the administrative structure, funding sources and job descriptions of individual expert posts in specific types of establishment. In the future, they will be able to actively participate in the management, presentation, promotion and cultural activities of heritage objects, either as an expert external collaborator or directly as an employee. They have a concrete overview of the possibilities of their possible future employment as a heritage building manager.

Assessment methods and criteria

Active participation in seminars with no more than three absences and study of the prescribed expert literature. Completion of all credit assignments is a prerequisite for the course.
