Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to introduce students to the fundamental characteristics of the discipline of prehistoric archaeology. Attention will be given to the field's position among other disciplines, as well as its importance for archaeological heritage preservation and systematic research activities. The course also aims to clarify for students the basic legislative framework within which the discipline is practised in the Czech Republic.
The student is able to form a basic understanding of the aims of the field, its position among other disciplines, its working methodology, and other important aspects associated with the field. The student will comprehend the fundamental role of the disciplineparticularly in studying the earliest human history as well as in archaeological heritage preservation. The student is capable of applying the acquired knowledge in organizations focused on archaeological heritage protection, professional institutes, museums, and similar institutions.
Prerequisites
Prehistory Knowledge of foreign languages is not a requirement; however, at least a basic understanding of English and German will significantly help students get oriented in the course.

The condition for successful completion of the course is achieving at least 75% success in the written test. The test will consist of both multiple-choice questions and open-ended questions, where the student must provide answers in their own words.
