The aim of the course is to synoptically introduce students to the development of history of fine arts from the beginning of Italian Renaissance to the turn of the 16th and 17th centuries. Emphasis is laid on overall historical context, selected artistic personalities and individual significant places and cultural centres.
The graduate demonstrates knowledge of the development of artistic creation from the Renaissance to the era of Rudolphine Prague Mannerism. The student is able to identify and date important works of art and historical buildings, and is oriented in the issues of individual schools, artistic centres and important personalities. He/she has an overview of the basic titles of domestic and foreign literature. |
