Course content
|
1. Irredenta of Sudeten Germans, Czechoslovakia in the year of 1938, formation of the Sudetengau 2. Administration of the Sudetengau, its leaders, the years of 1939 - 1942. 3. Impact of the war on the sítuation in the Sudetengau in the years 1942 - 1944 4. The last war year. Topics of tutorials: the issue of Czech Germans in the pre-war period, The Sudeten German Party and its representatives, Czechs in the Sudetengau, economic situation, military industry in the Sudetengau, air war - its causes, progress and consequences, evacuation of Reich Germans to the Sudetengau, transfer of industry to the Sudetengau, war hostages and concentration camps in the Sudetengau, so called "national guests", war situation in the year of 1945.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the subject is to introduce students in circumstances of origins and history of the so called Sudetengau. Students will learn about its position within the Third Reich, about its structure, main representatives, economy and fundamental problems of its existence and finally about circumstances of its end.
Students have elementary knowledge of history and period context in which the so called Sudetengau came to its existence. They are able to formulate main problems and influences in its development. They have knowledge of literature on the period. They show an ability to interpret period materials and they comprehend position and importance of this unit in the history of Czechoslovakia of the 20 century. They are able to present their acquired knowledge in the form of a text and discuss it.
