Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to introduce students to the works of important Czech and international architects, their theories and historical significance in the 19th and 20th centuries. The lectures will include an introduction to the context of the time and the environment in which the important buildings were placed. One of the accentuated elements is the highlighting of the architectural and heritage values of selected and generally recognized buildings.
The student will understand the development of architecture in the 19th and 20th centuries and will be able to place the buildings around them in a contemporary context. The graduate will be familiar with the architectural styles of the period and will know their main representatives.

A written test in the form of a cognitive exam, a seminar paper documenting a selected building, an oral exam.
