Learning outcomes

The course focuses on methods of description, documentation and modern methods of digitization of cultural heritage. Students will learn basic building and urban terminology, as well as the possibilities and limits of documentation and digitization methods, including examples of their use. An important part of the course is the improvement of skills related to the ability to analyse and interpret buildings or specific finding situations, therefore the course includes practical field exercises. Students solve specific finding situations according to the research currently being carried out by the course supervisor. During the course, emphasis is placed on a gentle and non-destructive approach to cultural heritage and on the application of the results in historical and conservation practice.
The student is familiar with the terminology of historical buildings. The student is able to interpret, document and describe finding situations. The student is also familiar with the methods of digitisation of cultural heritage.
