Course content
1. Typology of written sources useful for building history, which are stored in memory institutions in the Czech Republic and Austria. Czech archival network 2. Lexicons, editions, archival aids and basic terminology used in written sources used for building history, interpretation of older Czech texts, conversion of units of measurement 3. Written sources used for building history created by patrimonial administration and municipal authorities I. 4. Written sources usable for building history created by the activities of patrimonial administration and municipal authorities II. 5. Written sources usable for building history created by the activities of national, regional, district authorities, guilds and associations I. 6. Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to introduce students to a range of primary and supplementary archival sources (including editorially accessible ones) that provide information on the origins and structural development of historic buildings.
The student is able to orientate himself in the archives of the Czech Republic, he can work with archival sources and interpret historical written and iconographic documents as a prerequisite for the creation of archival research of building historical research.
