Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to familiarize students with the specialized terminology of building history necessary for describing the situation of historical buildings, describing the mass and expression of the building, its facades, layout, communication scheme, equipment and structures, with emphasis on the acquisition of specific terminology of historical structures, details and units, which is different from the conventional terminology of the construction and engineering industries on the basis of cultural and artistic development. The course also includes an introduction to and mastery of the specific mechanism for the creation of professional descriptions of historic buildings, the form of which is anchored in the practice of current conservation.
The student knows the professional terminology of building history, can compile a professional description of historical architecture, can frame and date historical structures and details. The acquired knowledge is used in the preparation of building-historical surveys and operational surveys and documentation.
