Course content
1. Introduction to the subject, history of photographic documentation 2. Basics of digital photography. 3.Introduction to photographic techniques 4. - 5. Theoretical basics of image composition and ideal exposure settings 6. - 7. Practical demonstration of the acquired skills. Demonstration of documentation and special lighting of the material source. 8. Theoretical introduction to photo editing in a graphic editor. 9. Introduction to digital video with a focus on the documentation of tangible cultural heritage. 10 - 11. Basics of working with technology. 12. Sound component of the image. 12. Possibilities of providing a commentary 13.-14. Possibilities of subsequent software processing of the captured footage Final evaluation of students' work.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to introduce students to both the theoretical and practical basics of digital photography and digital video. The course is divided into theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part will be focused on understanding the basic issues of photography and video - history of photography, general definition of photography and video, technical parameters and possible use of the necessary equipment, image construction and composition, image composition, introduction of basic editing programs.
Graduates of the course will be able to manage the acquisition and subsequent processing of photographic images and audiovisual works. Due to the focus of the course, they can use the acquired information and skills in the documentation of tangible cultural heritage. The acquired knowledge can be used especially in the field of conservation, museum or archival practice, in the visual documentation of material and written heritage. They can also use their skills for the ongoing documentation and subsequent presentation of the results of a partial study or scientific task. They can also use the skills they have acquired to record the testimonies of witnesses of significant events.

Active participation in the seminar (max. 3 absences). Seminar work: photographic documentation of a selected cultural monument; video documentary presenting the selected cultural monument.
