The aim of the course is to provide the graduate with a concrete idea of historical retrospective and current trends in the field of management, presentation and popularization of cultural heritage. The students are gradually informed within the framework of the individual topics about the development and especially the current trends in the operation of a heritage object open to the public, in order to gain a framework orientation in the various disciplines and professions with which the cultural heritage manager cooperates in the exercise of his profession. They are introduced to installation and registration practices, operational practices of different types of objects (installed heritage object with guided tours x torsional architecture), the basics of marketing, creative pedagogy, etc. The teaching is carried out in the form of full-time teaching, which, in addition to the theoretical explanatory part, will also consist of practical demonstrations in the field for the possibility of direct contact with the topics discussed. The course is focused on the presentation and popularisation of cultural heritage in the Czech Republic, but examples from other parts of Europe will be included for comparison.
The graduate has a clear idea of the mission and functioning and normal operation of heritage buildings open to the public. The student knows the administrative structure, funding sources and job descriptions of the various professional positions within specific types of facilities. He/she is able to take an active part in the future in the management, presentation, promotion and cultural activities of heritage sites, either as a professional external collaborator or directly as an employee. He or she has a specific overview of the possibilities of his or her possible future employment as a heritage site manager.
