Course content
|
The teaching of the course in the combined form summarizes these topics in individual teaching blocks: 1) Basic methodological and theoretical issues in the field 2) Marian and Christological iconography 3) Patrons and Helpers 4) Other thematic blocks of Christian iconography Within the framework of self-study, students deal with the topics included in the required literature and especially in the course outline, tasks assigned in the attendance part of the course or in the Moodle learning system, as well as on the basis of individual consultations with the teacher realized also through the communication forum in Moodle or other electronic form.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to acquaint the students with the historical development of the field of Christian iconography and with the fundamental areas of iconographic topics, both theoretical and applied. The emphasis is on the Czech and Central European environment. The topics are chosen so that the knowledge and skills can be actually used in future practice. Practical introduction to a wide range of iconographic handbooks and lexicons is also part of the teaching.
The graduate demonstrates a good orientation in the problems of Christian iconography. He is able to distinguish its individual branches and characterize their basic specifics. The student has the ability to identify the most important figures and themes. Demonstrates knowledge of the literature, especially iconographic handbooks and lexicons.
